Scholarships

The extensive range of scholarships at Texila American University (TAU) not only reward academic excellence but also enable students from many backgrounds to study at an international university. A a number of full and partial scholarships to qualified students are designed to encourage and reward academic excellence and to ensure equitable access to education. Scholarship criteria are competitive and eligible students are encouraged to apply in a timely manner to be included for review. Applicants and accepted students are invited to apply for available scholarships posted on our official website.

Please Note: Scholarship applications are only available to first-year, incoming students & Not for transfer students. Scholarships are limited to certain numbers in each category.

MD Scholarships

A grant of 15% on the tuition fee per semester for the 1st three semesters will be awarded to those students possessing an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.8 or higher, and a pre-requisite GPA of 3.5 or higher

TAU Global Citizen Grant

Limited half-tuition scholarships are awarded to students, who have demonstrated strong personal qualities of citizenship, dedication to the community or public service, and academic excellence, and are classified as an under-represented minority in the field of medicine. The grant covers 25% of the tuition for the duration of 1st year of the MD program. Ideally, applicants will possess a minimum of an undergraduate GPA of 3.25 or higher, and a pre-requisite GPA of 3.0 or higher and are otherwise accepted by the Admissions Committee. this is for MD programs only.

TAU- CARICOM Scholarship

Under this program, TAU offers full tuition waiver for the Basic Sciences (Pre Clinical) , to ONE applicant selected, who is a citizen of CARICOM region. In order to maintain continued eligibility for the scholarship program, the student must maintain at least 3.2 grades in all prior classes.

TAU- Guyana Scholarship

Under this program, TAU offers full tuition waiver for the Basic Sciences ( Pre-clinical) , to ONE applicant selected, who is a citizens of Guyana and must have completed his schooling in Guyana. In order to maintain continued eligibility for the scholarship program, the student must maintain at least 3.2 grades in all prior classes.

The Scholarship Committee must receive all applications and supporting documentation at least four weeks prior to the start of the semester. Scholarship recipients will be notified in writing and by phone within two weeks of the Committee’s decision.

NOTE: Students already in ONE form of Scholarship will not be eligible for another scholarship. The number of scholarships is limited and served on first come first serve basis. The Admissions committee is the final authority on award of scholarships
